Frequently Asked Questions
What is an e-signature, and is it equivalent to a handwritten signature?
Under Turkey's Electronic Signature Law No. 5070, a secure electronic signature created with a qualified electronic certificate has the same legal effect as a handwritten (wet) signature. It is used for e-Government (e-Devlet), UYAP, e-Invoice, public tenders (EKAP), SGK and tax transactions.
Which documents do I need to apply for an e-signature?
For a personal e-signature, your Turkish ID number, contact details and a valid identity document are enough. You apply online on our website and give your approval via e-Devlet; we handle identity verification and delivery for you.
How long does it take to receive my e-signature?
Under BTK regulations, for both first-time e-signature applications and renewals the 180-minute (3-hour) period starts from the moment you give your e-Devlet approval. Within Istanbul you can choose motorcycle courier for first-time applications (there is no courier option for renewals); we ship to the other provinces by cargo, and it arrives within a few business days in most provinces.
Which applications can use motorcycle courier delivery?
Motorcycle courier delivery is only available for first-time e-signature applications within Istanbul. There is no courier option for e-signature renewals, KEP, SSL or timestamp applications; the courier fee depends on the district you choose and is added to the total during the application.
What should I do when my e-signature expires?
We send you e-mail and SMS reminders before it expires. You can renew just the certificate on your existing USB token, and order at the renewal price in one click with the "Renew" button in your customer panel.
Can I install the e-signature myself?
Yes. Our installation guide explains the driver and Java settings step by step. If you get stuck, we can complete the installation for you via remote connection.
What is the difference between a corporate and a personal e-signature?
An e-signature is always issued to an individual (to their Turkish ID number). For corporate purchases, the invoice is issued in the company's name and the certificate may include the organization's details; for personal purchases, the invoice is issued in the individual's name.
